Advance Systems Turnstiles Securing NUI Galway Bicycle Park
Founded in 1845, with over 17,000 students and more than 2,200 staff, NUI Galway has a distinguished reputation for teaching and research excellence in the fields of arts, social science, and celtic studies; business, public policy and law; engineering and informatics; medicine, nursing and health sciences; and science.
NUI Galway is in the middle of a €400 million construction programme – the largest expansion of facilities in any university in Ireland. The ‘Campus of the Future’ project has already delivered iconic new research facilities.
With a new secure bicycle compound being built on campus Advance Systems were selected to supply and install Turnstiles for Pedestrian & Bicycle access to this area. Working with main contactor Glenman Construction, 4nr ERA Gate’s were installed with 2 at both ends of the park. This allows users to enter and exit with bicycles at designated points. 2nr Rexon ERA3 Turnstiles we installed at the campus side of the compound which allows user to leave through these turnstiles when exiting or returning on foot. We worked with the campus access control provider to ensure there was seamless integration with the existing GSD system in place on site as all access to the compound is controlled via the student ID access control cards.
